
Meet Our Pastor
Elder Michael A Coleman Sr was born August 23, 1964 in Mendenhall, Ms, he moved to Indianapolis at a young age, with his parent’s Elder and Mother Traxler, and siblings 3 Brother’s and 3 sisters. Educated in Indianapolis Public School system, graduating from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1983.He was a member of the football and basketball teams.
Elder Coleman continued his education at Vincennes University, in 1986 he joined the United States Army, and he attended basic training at Ft Jackson, South Carolina. Trained in the field of Communications at Ft Gordon, Georgia, which also became his permanent duty station for 2 1/2 years. He joined the Indiana National Guard in 1989 served a 1 year tour to Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004. Elder Coleman retired from the Indiana Army National Guard in December 2006. He is currently employed by the Earle M Jorgensen Company for the past 29 years.
Elder Coleman has been a member of Lee Temple COGIC under the pastorage and tutelage of Supt Willie J Sholar since 1997. Previously he served as the Assistant Pastor, Church Administrator, Trustee Board Member, Sunday School Superintendent, Pastor Aid Committee. He also serves as Charity District SS Superintendent. Also he serves as the Regional Assistant to the Sunday School Department and is a National Adjutant. God has elevated him from a Brother, Deacon, Minister, and Elder in the COGIC. On the 25th of June 2017 Elder Coleman was installed as the Pastor of Lee Temple Church of God in Christ.
On October 4, 1986, Elder Coleman married the lovely Missionary Tammy Renea Johnson; they are the proud parents of three sons, Michael Jr, Brandon Sr. and Morris Sr. They have also been blessed with 8 grandchildren, Brandon Jr., Shamar, Zyaire, Morris Jr., Zane, Bryson, Michael III and Mason and 3 God-children Qamara, Quinn Jr. and Akanni Sholar.
